Blue Autism Center is an innovative nonprofit organization offering high quality behavioral services in a clinic setting. We currently provide services to early learners ranging from 18 months to 8 years old. At Blue Autism Center, we focus on creating individualized programs based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. 
What We Do
            Blue Autism Center provides scientifically based strategies to decrease problem behaviors while teaching appropriate communication, adaptive living skills, social skills, play skills, and skill acquisition.
  • We provide intensive ABA therapy in a structured learning setting. Our center is open Monday through Friday from 9-4pm. Early intervention students must attend a minimum of 15 hours and can attend up to 35 hours of ABA Therapy per week. Our daily schedule includes 1:1 time with a therapist, social skills lessons, and group activities.

ABA Therapy

 

  • We provide ABA services in a clinic setting. ABA intervention includes skill acquisition teaching, implementation of behavior reduction plans, social skills, life skills, and toilet training.

 

Behavior Reduction Plans

 

  • We provide individualized behavior reduction plan. Our behavior plans are focused on teaching replacement behavior while distinguishing negative behaviors.

 

Ongoing assessments

 

  • BCBAs provide ongoing assessments and will adjust current goals as needed. A formal assessment is completed every six months.

 

Parent Training

 

  • Parents will be trained to implement ABA strategies on their own.

  • What is ABA Therapy?

    Applied Behavior Analysis consists of research-based practices to decrease challenging behaviors while teaching new age-appropriate skills. ABA focuses on positive reinforcement to increase appropriate behaviors. ABA Therapy consists of a behavior reduction plan as well as a set of individualized programs. Programs typically include appropriate communication, attending skills, social skills, play skills, and adaptive skills.

  • Will ABA help my child?

    Yes! Research shows that Applied Behavior Analysis is the leading approach to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. During the assessment process, the BCBA will develop an individualized treatment plan based on results from the assessment. Treatment plans include a behavior reduction plan as well as a set of programs targeting communication skills, social skills, play skills, self-care skills, and attending skills.

  • What is the age range of children you serve?

     18 months to 8 years old

  • Who delivers services?

    • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – The BCBA holds a masters level degree along with specific coursework in the field of ABA. A BCBA also has to receive clinical supervision hours by a BCBA before taking and passing a board exam. BCBAs are required to take courses and receive education credits in order to keep the certificate valid. The BCBA conducts initial and ongoing assessments, trains therapists on specific ABA programs and strategies, writes behavior plans based on Functional Behavior Assessments, and provides parents training.
    • Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) – The BCaBA holds an undergraduate degree along with specific coursework in the field of ABA. A BCaBA also has to receive clinical supervision hours by a BCBA before taking and passing a board exam. BCaBAs are required to take courses and receive education credits in order to keep the certificate valid. The BCaBA manages a small caseload under the supervision of a BCBA.
    • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – The RBT receives a 40-hour training course as well as in-session training. After completing the training, the RBTs have to go through a competency assessment with the BCBA as well as pass a certification exam. RBTs receive ongoing training and supervision. RBTs provide direct implementation of ABA programs and behavior plans.
  • How many hours of ABA Therapy should my child receive?

    Based on research, Blue Autism Center offers 10-35 hours per week.
